Of Minstrils, Ninth Grade and Peas

Drama Girl, aptly named for her love of theater, was in Once Upon A Mattress or the Princess and the Pea.

I had no idea she was a lead until I asked about her costume. Usually the mom's are given the task of sewing their child's costume. D.G. announced I did not have to do a thing because the leads costumes were sewn for them! Yippee!

But alas! D.G. brought home a cute skirt in need of hemming. Her drama teacher told her I was not allowed to sew it. Why? She does not want hot glue holding up the hem. :)

D.G. did a great job. I had no idea how much she got to sing and how many lines she had.

The musical was so cute! I thought it was a great way to end their drama year. The teacher is getting married soon and made the decision not to put on the second play this year. D.G. was glad because she didn't want to try out but didn't want the teacher to be mad at her. Now she's in the clear to be on the track team.

The realization of ninth grade slowly coming to an end hit many of the cast members and tears flowed.

I'm proud of D.G. for her choices of friends, entertainment and wanting to be more spiritual.
