Cold hands, warm family

We went southeast for Memorial Day. My FIL passed away over fifteen years ago. Sometimes it feels shorter sometimes longer. He was a good man.

The kids and I love to wander around the cemetery, trying to find our relatives. The only problem is hubby's side is related to five other prominent names so there are tons of tombstones with potential family carved on them.

This year a knot of people traveled from one grave site to another and spoke briefly about each ancestor. I told hubby and his sisters I wanted to start that same tradition next year.

After placing flowers on designated sites, we meander over to The Hall and eat lunch with the living. This year it was cold so I ended up in the car reading.
It was a cold day, but family and traditions sure can warm the heart!
