1940 Indexing Practice Contest!

I have a confession:  I'm an indexing addict. I love it! The thrill I get every time I finish a batch is such a rush. I feel like a dectective when I scroll through the census and try to figure out what's written/typed on those papers from years ago. I get excited because I know I'm helping someone's family possibly find a link to their ancestors. I've indexed over 24,000 names since I started.

1940 Census is about to go viral and you too can become an indexing junkie.

How exciting to find and officially record for all those who lived in the forties and their posterity. And right now, the 1940 indexing blog is hosting a contest. All you need to do is register at 1940 Census Project, download the indexing program from HERE and practice when it comes available. These images will be free for everyone!

The 1940's census is the biggest project yet and needs all of our help.

Hop over to the blog, sign up and let's get busy! And it doesn't hurt that you could win $50 or $100 Visa!

Congrats on your entry for the 1940 US Census Ambassador Weekly Contest. A very clever approach with 2012 Lingo to gain interest in the 1940's Era. Even more impressive is your 'Indexing Confession Numbers'....Wow!!!

I hope you'll have a chance to stop by and view my Entry on CollectInTexas Gal....Sue
