Triple Ten Day OR 10-10-10

About 20 years ago, Garth and I were in Taiwan teaching English. They LOVE holidays! Any holiday they can get out of school for, they will. We encountered Teacher Day, Moon Day, and Double Ten Day. Ten is a good luck number for the Chinese. So the tenth day in the tenth month is a huge celebration. ***This just in*** Double Day is to commemorate the Wuchang uprising on October 10, 1911, which led to the collapse of the Qing Dynsty.
Here at the Lovell household, we wanted to make sure we celebrated so we made and ate yummy Chinese food. We had stir-fry veggies, Egg Drop Soup, Chinese soy sauce noodles and Lettuce Wraps. For desert? You guessed it! Fortune Cookies! "One of your wishes may come true!" What kind of fortune is that??
