Happiness is your heritage

"Happiness is your heritage" came from a talk by President Uchtdorf.

What does that statement mean to you?

One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Nephi 2:25, "Men are, that they might have joy." (Interesting place for a comma.)
We are here on earth to find joy and happiness! It is our heritage.

Life has a funny way of adding more activities to our daily lives without giving us more time. Sometimes the activities are a choice between better and best.  I won't give any examples here because every situation and person is different.  If you looked at one day this week where you had to make a choice between better or best, you'll know what I mean.

Did I hear "If I had more time to do all!"?
When do we get more time?  I wonder if we ask 'Does this bring me joy?',  would our daily routine change?
I hear, "Yes! But the house would go to pot!" lol  I have found that sometimes even doing the dishes and sweeping the floors brings me joy and happiness!

What we do with our time is important.
I told a good friend recently that I am getting pretty selfish with my time.  Then I laughed and felt stupid for saying it (mind not engaged before mouth ran away). I thought about that statement for over a month and decided that I have the right and duty to be selfish with my time.
I don't sit around eating bon-bons and watching soap operas, but I do enjoying reading and writing, spending time with my family and laughing with good friends.  Those activities bring me joy.  And sometimes I have to choose between better and best.

What brings you happiness?
What brings you joy?
Ask yourself these questions then right down the answers without thinking.
Your subconscious will surprise you.
