Got Tires?

Do you think the brand of tire is worth the money? I don't know either. But I do know good tires can save your life.

Hubby was traveling last week and had a harrowing experience. Very close head on collision. He was able to avoid it but the car had a hard time righting when hubby hit the shoulder of the road. When he was safe again he had to pull over and relax. He also said a prayer of gratitude.
When he got home we talked over his experience. One of the many tender mercies that day were new tires on the company car. Hubby wasn't sure if the car would've responded the way it did if old tires were on the car.

Are your tires safe? I got a tire pressure checker from Michelin. And tread checkers. In the last six months, all of our vehicles HAD to get new tires. I couldn't believe how bad the tread was on the mommy taxi!
We don't have Michelin tires. I'm just glad we have good tires!

Here are some tire safety ideas:

Pressure: Under inflated tires can lead to tire failure. Always inflate to the recommended pressure listed in the vehicle's manufacturer book.

Alignment: Misalignment of wheels in the front or rear can cause uneven and rapid tread wear.

Rotation: Sometimes irregular tire ear can be corrected by rotating your tires.

Tread: Traction an resistance to hydroplaning is reduced as tires wear. Tires must be replaced when the tread is worn down to 2/32 of an inch.
