Prayers and piano

As I walked through the hall to Relief Society with one minute to spare, I was asked if I would play piano for Primary. Taken by surprise and a little nervous I nodded yes and went into Primary.
I'm glad I went even though I didn't play perfectly (Primary children don't care).  It's refreshing to spend a few hours with children as they learn the gospel.
Today's Sharing Time was on prayers and praying.  The children were invited to share some of their prayers that may have been answered or the feelings they got from a particular prayer.  There were the usual: lost-dog-found, near car accidents, dinosaur-toy-lost-at-the-mall, and moms missing.
The last one was my 5 year-old sons story. "Mom went to the mail but I didn't know that and I was scared so I said a prayer and she came home." I had the adults looking at me with smiles on their faces.
(One of the adults is the DH of a friend I often talk to when I get my mail. Her house is by the mailbox).
I smiled back thinking "If you only knew!"

If they only knew some of the amazing, quieting, try not to laugh out loud prayers I heard from this 5 year-old.
I invite you to share them with me now:

"Please bless us to be good friends so they will be good and we will be good friends together and forever."

"Please bless me to be good." After the prayer he announced: "Mom, I'm a good boy now.  Because my brain doesn't want to be bad anymore.  And my heart doesn't either."

"Please bless the rocks and the snakes."

"Please bless the computers and XBox so we can play them." After which he asked, "Mom, if Jesus doesn't like our prayers does he sell them back?"

I praised Zach after a particularly good and long prayer.  He smiled and said, "My prayer was long like Dad's wasn't it?  Because he's prayers are really, really long!"

Tomorrow: Zach's eBay story that earned him some money...
