Tale of the Red Lid

Once there was a young lad who emptied the dish washing gadget for his family. He worked diligently while talking and laughing and joking. Once the gadget was empty, he filled it again with dirty dishes and went on his merry way.
A while later, his mother opened the cooling gadget where food was housed and found a red lid.
"We don't keep the lids in here," she exclaimed. When the lad was summoned he laughed "What?" he asked "Why did I do that?" and wondered out loud if he was losing his mind.
The moral of the story is anyone can misplace a lid, but not a sense of humor.
